Talks with Joey...
I like to have discussions with Joey. With Haleigh we talk deep and personal and I cherish those as well. With Adam, we talk serious too, but not as much as we used to. Joey on the otherhand makes me laugh, smile, giggle, and wonder what he will come up with next.
Every day after school I ask Joey how his day was and everyday it's the same..."Baaaaaaad." he tells me in this kind of funny lower voice. Joey is a social creature and all about his friends and having fun, which to him doesn't include school work. So that's why I always get "baaaaaaad" from him. Why I ask him? Because it's SO boring! Now yesterday when I asked Joey how his day was, to my surprise he didn't say "baaaaaaad," but instead tells me what he and his friend Keegan were planning. Evidently when Joey, Keegan, and O'riley grow up they are all 3 going to be roommates and be rich! Also, Joey tells me, that Keegan says that all they are going to do is have money and girls. I think to myself, boy they start young! Joey tells me the girls part with a scrunched up nose, because he still thinks girls are stupid, but apparently Keegan doesn't. :) My response was "oh, that's interesting." Joey was quiet for a minute and then he says "I think I'm going to do it, be roommates with Keegan and O'riley, but if girls come, I'm leaving. I'll go back when "they" leave." He cracks me up!

"First-Born"

Adam-My most common phrase(s) for Adam are..."gotta luv him!" and "he's a piece of work!"
These phrases help me keep some of my sanity as I(we) stumble into the "crazy" teenage years. Adam, has and will always have a special place in my heart. He's my first-born, he wasn't just the "trial child" where we tried everything on him first, so that by the second and third child came around we were "experts." :) Yeah, right!
Adam was the child that Mark and I would fight over who got to change his diaper, because we wanted too! We were like "it's my turn, no it's mine!" ;-) By the time Joey came around we where like, "it's your turn, no it's yours, I did it the last time."
Adam was the child that when I was pregnant with Haleigh, I would cuddle next to him and look at him and wonder how Could I love this child growing inside of me as I loved Adam. Of course I learned that I had enough and equal amount of love for ALL my children!
Adam is the one that I first made up the Teddy Bear Band for. Adam was the one that I made up a poem/song for and had it published. I used to sing it every night to Adam as I rocked him and stared into his beautiful blue eye's.
Adam was so sweet, thoughtful and sensitive and then one day...He became a teenager!!! ;-)
"Gotta luv him!" He challenges me, tests my patience, gives me gray hairs, but inside he's still my first-born." The one that stole a piece of my heart, the one that I just know is someone awesome!
Adam is quiet, kind of serious and goofy all in one, the one that loves his sister-that even though HE can mess with her, don't let anyone else! Adam is the one that his little brother looks up to, the one that he calls not only brother, but friend. Adam is active, plays soccer, he snowboards, he's a fast runner, loves guitar, he's smart, but "allergic" to reading. ;) He is pretty good at anything he puts his mind to, Adam has the potential to be great! Adam is trustworthy and he has a healthy respect and love for God. He makes me proud!
Quote from Adam when he had recently turned 13...
"Mom I'm 13, I'm almost a man."
"ADAM'S LULLABY"
It's late at night, when you close your eyes
you dream of heaven, way past the skies
you dance with angels, they sing with glee
you run to Jesus, and climb to his knees
he tells you a story of God and his glory
and then you wake up, and again it's morning
angel kisses and angel wishes
way up in the sky
the stars are bright, but you have God's light
as he holds you in his arms.
I love you Adam!

"Mini-Me"
So I'm a little nervous today. My daughter Haleigh, who is in the 7th grade and turns 13 this month is going to the Tea Garden after school with some friends. The Tea Garden is right accross the street from school and they are just going to walk over there on their own. I suppose it's not that big of a deal, but I can't help worrying. Now Haleigh on the other hand is super excited! They grow up so fast!!! :)
Haleigh is my only girl, sandwiched in-between 2 boys. I absolutely adore her! She is just like me, but not so much in looks. While I have brown eyes, brown hair, and am "pleasantly" plump. ;-) Haleigh has blue eyes, blonde hair, petite, thin, with the cutest freckles, and oh so lovely inside and out.
But in personality, we are two peas in a pod. Romantic, funny, generous, kind, and have a strong love for God. I would say Haleigh is definetly more bold than me and more popular, but when it comes down to it, she is a reflection of me and I am so proud of the young woman she is becoming!!!
Haleigh is notorious for saying what ever comes to her mind. She means well, trying to say a compliment, but it ends up becoming a little mixed up.
quote's from Haleigh...
"I love your pretty nightie mom, when I grow up and become big and fat like you, can I have it?" (Haleigh was about 5 years old)
"Why Auntie Keli, you almost look pretty." (Haleigh was about 7 and she was trying to tell her Aunt Keli that she looked pretty, it just didn't come out that well)
"Grandpa, I think I am allergic to Joey." why, ask's Grandpa? "Because I can't stop kissing him." (This was when Joey was a baby and Haleigh was 4 years old)
"Mom, Grandpa Jerry is the only Grandpa I really know, besides dad." (A little history here-Haleigh's dad, my husband is 53 to my 38. Clearly Halo thinks he's "grandpa material.") :-) Gotta luv her!

Am I really doing this...?
So I finally bit the bullet and decided to blog, or maybe it was just inevitable...After all, whatever my BFF does, I somehow end up doing and vice versa. :)
A little about myself...I am a mom of 4, this includes 1 husband and 3 kids. ;) And my most devoted follower, our dog, George! He loves me unconditionally and doesn't talk back. What more could I ask for? We also have Gigi, the cat. She spends most of her day's lurking in some corner, trying to stay away from George and my husband. They both seem to have an extreme dislike for poor Gigi, one from jealousy and the other one...? Who knows, I'm still trying to figure him out.
Anywho, the real reason I am doing this is because I wanted to share my crazy, funny life, and maybe make someone else laugh, smile, relate, understand, and the list goes on.
I will start by sharing a little about my youngest...Joey, 8 years old, but soon to be 9! He's a crack up! The things that come out of his mouth, well, let's just say there has been many a time I have to either leave the room so he doesn't see or hear me laughing at him, or I can't wait to call someone up to tell them the latest thing Joey has had to say.
For example, when Joey was about 5 years old he was sitting next to me watching TV while I was reading. Now was Joey watching a cartoon or kids movie? Nope, not Joey, he was quite intently and quite seriously watching a catholic mass. The priest, bishop, cardinal...Whomever he was, he was quite beautifully dressed and Joey was fascinated. All of a sudden, Joey turns to me and say's "when I grow up, I want to be God." (thinking this man leading the mass was God, because he was so dressed up). I said "Oh I'm sorry honey, but you can't be God." The Joey preceded to say so matter of factly "okay, I'll be Jesus then." Needless to say, he made me smile, and then some. :~)
